NHL Rumors: Sharks Forward Could Be Done In San Jose

According to Sheng Peng, the Sharks are considering the possibility of not sending Jonathan Dahlen a qualifying offer. If they decide not to, Dahlen will become an unrestricted free agent.

Dahlen just completed his first NHL season, and it was a fairly solid one for the rookie. In 61 games, the 24-year-old forward scored 12 goals and recorded 22 points. However, it may not have been enough for him to earn a qualifying offer from San Jose.

The Sharks have until Monday to make their final decision on Dahlen. If he does hit the open market, there could be a decent amount of teams interested in signing him. He has the potential to be a solid third-liner. Perhaps teams in need of some forward depth will give him a call.
