Penguins Will Not Give Forward Qualifying Offer

The Penguins will not give forward Danton Heinen a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 13th.

This is a surprising one. Heinen had arguably his best season in the NHL yet, posting a career high 18 goals with 13 assists for 33 total points. In seven playoff games this year he scored three goals.

The twenty-seven year old is a solid offensive player with a good defensive game as well. He's the definition of an all-around player.

Heinen is an excellent bottom-six forward and will generate much interest on the free agent market this offseason.
