Stars Sign 2021-22 Breakout Forward

The Stars have signed forward Mason Marchment to a four-year deal worth $4.5 million annually.
Marchment is coming off a season where he put up unprecendented numbers on Florida's fourth line. The twenty-seven year old scored 18 goals and 29 assists for 47 points in 54 games. All career highs.

The $4.5 million per year is pretty bold by the Stars, given that Marchment has only played 91 career NHL games. However, the six foot four 209 pound forward also provides great defensive protection to go along with his offensive touch.

Marchment will be a good top six option for the Stars this season and should pair nicely with Tyler Seguin. With increased playing time, and expected top minutes, it will be interesting to see if Marchment can carry this season's success over to 2022-23.
