Chicago Blackhawks Defenseman to Return Earlier Than Expected

Earlier this month, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that Jake McCabe will be out for the next 10 to 12 weeks after having cervical spine surgery. Yet, the 28-year-old will be back sooner than expected, as he actually had the surgery six weeks ago, according to Tracey Myers. As a result, we should see him back by the end of October.

Although the Blackhawks are in a full-on rebuild, it is good to hear that they are getting McCabe back earlier than once believed. He will be a good veteran for them to have while they rebuild, as he comes with nine years of NHL experience on his resume.

In 75 games this past season with the Blackhawks, McCabe had four goals to go along with 22 points. Let's see what he can do once he is fully healthy and ready to go for Chicago.
