NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins Linked to 2 Free-Agent Defensemen

The Boston Bruins could use another defensemen as their depth isn't ideal heading into this season. According to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, there's a couple of free-agent veterans who are solid options and could be making their way to training camp in a few weeks.

P.K Subban and Keith Yandle are both players to watch here as the PTO season is upon us and the Bruins could be interested. Subban is a 'for sure' for this season, meanwhile Yandle has admitted it's going to need to be the perfect situation for him to commit to another full season in the NHL.

Murphy mentioned the following regarding both defensemen:

I think both guys would be willing to sign PTO’s at this point,” an NHL source told Murphy. They added, “We’re getting really close to camp now and I know both guys want to pay this season.” The source says there’s been a connection between the Bruins and Yandle for some time and there’s a feeling the two sides might be open to trying to make the fit work. There’s also a belief that despite the history of Subban in Montreal, he’d be open to joining the Bruins and likes the idea of being part of that history and tradition.

Subban has also been linked to the Edmonton Oilers recently, along with the potential of a reunion in New Jersey. Meanwhile Yandle's name has been quiet this summer as he contemplates hanging up the skates. If he's open to playing, sounds like there could be a perfect situation in Boston this season.
