Buffalo Sabres Call Up Forward

Earlier this week, Sean Malone was one of the many players around the NHL who were placed on waivers. Yet, now the Buffalo Sabres are giving him another look, as he has been called up to the NHL squad.

In this situation, it is likely that the Sabres simply want to rest a few of their key guys for their next preseason game. This would be understandable with the regular season right around the corner. Thus, the 27-year-old will be getting another chance to play with the team and will aim to leave a good impression.

It is more likely than not that Malone will be sent back down to the AHL before the start of the regular season. Due to the fact that he cleared waivers already, he can go right back down without hitting the waiver wire again. The 27-year-old should once again be a big part of the Rochester Americans' roster this year and will be aiming to build off his 37-point season in 39 games from last year.
