Buffalo Sabres Place Forward on Waivers

The Buffalo Sabres have placed Anders Bjork on waivers.

Bjork made the Sabres' opening night roster out of training camp, but he also was scratched for both of their regular season games. Now, the Sabres are having him hit the waiver wire, where the rest of the league will have the opportunity to claim him. Yet, if he clears, the Sabres will save $1.125 million of Bjork's $1.6 million cap hit when on the roster.

Bjork's fairly high salary for a bottom-six/extra forward makes it seem more likely than not that he will clear waivers. In 58 games last season for the Sabres, the 26-year-old winger had five goals to go along with three assists.
