Canucks Forward Out for Multiple Weeks

Another day, another injury for the Vancouver Canucks. Curtis Lazar is the latest Canuck to be hit with the injury bug, as the team has announced that he will be out for the next three-to-four weeks due to an undisclosed injury.

With the Canucks currently sporting a 0-5-2 record and dealing with several injuries to key players already, losing Lazar is not ideal in the slightest. Yes, the 27-year-old is not the most offensive of players, but his grit and physicality will be missed in the bottom six while he is out of action.

Lazar was inked to a three-year, $3 million contract this offseason by the Canucks after having a solid year with the Boston Bruins. In seven games so far this season, he has recorded an assist and 17 hits. With that, he has a plus-3 rating, which is pretty impressive given Vancouver's atrocious record to start the year.

Alas, here's to hoping that Lazar suffers no setbacks in his recovery and can return to the ice in mid-to-late November.
