Dallas Stars Sign Jason Robertson to Big Contract

On Wednesday, insider Darren Dreger reported that it seemed unlikely that the Dallas Stars and Jason Robertson would agree to a contract before the start of the 2022-23 season. Yet, things have now changed dramatically on that front, as Robertson has now signed a four-year, $31 million ($7.75 million AAV) contract with Dallas.
It shouldn't have taken this long given Robertson's immense importance to the team, but thankfully, that does not matter now. The Stars will now officially have their top player on the roster for their season opener and look significantly better with him than without him.

The $7.75 million cap hit is a good one if Robertson continues to play as well as he did during his first two seasons in the NHL. In 74 games last year, he scored 41 goals and had 79 points. Let's see what he does for an encore in 2022-23 with his brand new contract.
