Flames Sign Goalie to Extension

The Calgary Flames have signed Dan Vladar to a two-year, $4.4 million ($2.2 million AAV) contract extension.

The Flames acquired Vladar from the Boston Bruins last season, and he proved to be a very good backup netminder for them immediately. In 23 appearances for Calgary last campaign, he had a 13-6-2 record, .906 SV%, and 2.75 GAA. As a result of this strong season, he now has earned himself a nice raise, which begins next season.

Overall, this is a very fair deal between both parties. The Flames are keeping Vladar around at an affordable price, while the 25-year-old has landed a significant pay raise. Let's see how the Czech netminder responds to it from here.
