Florida Panthers Defenseman Injured

The Florida Panthers were without defenseman Brandon Montour for Monday's game against the Boston Bruins because he suffered an upper-body injury. At the time of this writing, an estimated return for the 28-year-old defenseman has not been announced.

Due to Florida's salary cap trouble, they were unable to call up a player to replace Montour on short notice before the game and were a defenseman short. Given Montour's solid play both offensively and defensively, it will be rough for Florida if he has to miss a notable amount of time.

In 81 games last season, Montour set new career highs with 11 goals and 37 points. He already has a goal in two games played this season, so let's see if he can keep up his strong start once he is healthy again.
