Florida Panthers Place Forward on Waivers

Connor Bunnaman did not make the cut, as the Florida Panthers have placed the 24-year-old on waivers.

Bunnaman was an extra player traded to the Panthers in the Claude Giroux trade with the Philadelphia Flyers last season. Following the move to Florida, he did not appear in another NHL game on the season. Instead, he appeared in 12 games with the Charlotte Checkers, where he had three points.

With the Flyers last season, he got into 15 games, where he had zero points and a minus-7 rating. He also recorded 11 points in 41 games with their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Offensively, Bunnaman does not offer much, but he could get some consideration around the league because of his defensive play. Who knows? Maybe the Flyers will claim him.
