Maple Leafs Make Changes to Roster

The Toronto Maple Leafs have called up Kyle Clifford to their NHL roster, and he is set to make his season debut on Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets. With that, recent call-up Filip Kral is heading right back to the Toronto Marlies.

The Maple Leafs know what they are getting from Clifford, and that is added toughness and grit. The 31-year-old split this past season between the St Louis Blues and Maple Leafs, where he had one goal, three assists, and 31 penalty minutes. With that, he racked up 31 penalty minutes. He will likely get occasional reps on their fourth line during this road trip from here.

Kral, on the other hand, did not get into any action after being called up to the NHL roster earlier this week. As a result, he will have to wait longer to make his NHL debut. In 58 games last season with the Marlies, the 23-year-old defenseman scored three goals and recorded 21 points.
