Montreal Canadiens Sign Goalie to Extension

During the offseason, there were rumblings that the Montreal Canadiens and Jake Allen were having extension talks. Now, that has come to fruition, as the veteran netminder has signed a two-year contract extension at a $3.85 million cap hit.

With this extension, Allen will be getting a raise from his current $2.875 million cap hit starting next season. This isn't too surprising to see, as the 32-year-old is expected to be the club's starting goalie moving forward given the uncertainty of Carey Price's playing future.

In 35 games this past season, Allen had a 9-20-4 record, 3.30 GAA, and .905 SV%. Let's see if he can improve these totals in 2022-23 from here.
