Canadiens Rumors: 3 Possible Destinations for Jonathan Drouin

Jonathan Drouin's name has come up in the rumor mill, and it seems that he will inevitably be traded by the Montreal Canadiens. At this juncture, the 27-year-old could use a fresh start. Let's look at three teams who should make a push for the former first-round pick.

New York Islanders: Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello did not make any notable additions to the team's forward group this offseason, so perhaps adding a player like Drouin could make sense for them. Their left wing depth is not particularly strong, and Drouin could fit in their top six. Perhaps pairing up with Mathew Barzal could help him regain his scoring touch.

Buffalo Sabres: With over $19 million of cap space, the Sabres are in a position to improve their forward group. The Sabres are off to a solid 2-1-0 start but definitely could use an upgrade at left wing. There certainly could be a match here, even if they are division rivals.

Anaheim Ducks: Another team with a plethora of cap space, the Ducks absolutely could afford to bring in Drouin. After an offseason of spending, they are off to a rough 1-3-0 start, so they should consider the prospect of improving their roster as soon as possible. Drouin would certainly have the potential to do just that.
