Arizona Coyotes Send Forward Down to AHL

The Arizona Coyotes have activated Ben McCartney from season-opening injured reserve. With this, they also have sent the 21-year-old down to the AHL.

McCartney appeared in his first two NHL games last season, where he failed to record a point and had four penalty minutes. The 21-year-old winger primarily played for the Tucson Roadrunners, however, and was quite solid in the process. In 57 games, he had 18 goals, 35 points, and 65 penalty minutes. Now, he will be aiming to build off of his strong first professional season from here.

McCartney is a prime call-up candidate for the Coyotes moving forward. His solid scoring touch and tenacious style of play could make him a decent bottom-six forward for them before the season is over.
