Red Wings Make Roster Move

The Detroit Red Wings have called up Matt Luff to their NHL roster.

This Luff call-up is in response to Oskar Sundqvist unfortunately being out with an upper-body injury. Sundqvist has been off to a truly spectacular start for the Red Wings this campaign, as he has five points in six games. That is excellent production from the bottom-six winger, so it is rough that his hot start now has to be put on pause.

However, now Luff will be aiming to pick up the pieces for Detroit. The 25-year-old winger appeared in 23 games last season for the Nashville Predators, where he had three goals and three assists. With the Grand Rapids Griffins this campaign so far, he's also been very good, as he has seven points in only five games. Let's see how well his offense now translates over to the NHL level.
