Sabres Provide Updates On 2 Key Defensemen

While speaking with the media, Buffalo Sabres head coach Kevyn Adams provided updates on key defensemen Mattias Samuelsson and Henri Jokiharju. Unfortunately, neither of them are going to be back for a while. Adams noted that Samuelsson will be out for several weeks, while Jokiharju is currently deemed as being week-to-week.

Samuelsson, who just signed a shocking seven-year, $30 million contract extension with Buffalo, has been blossoming into a big part of their blueline. Thus, having him now being ruled out for several weeks is a major blow for a Sabres team who is firing on all cylinders right now. In five games this season, the 22-year-old has zero points but also a plus-6 rating.

Jokiharju, on the other hand, is heading into a big year for the Sabres, and now it has to be put on pause for him. In four games thus far, the 23-year-old has an assist and a plus-3 rating.
