Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Prospect

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Fraser Minten to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Maple Leafs selected Minten with the 38th overall pick of this year's entry draft. With the 6-foot-1 center being an early second-rounder, there naturally is some excitement following him. The Vancouver native just played this past season with the Kamloops Blazers, where he had 20 goals, 35 assists, and 57 penalty minutes. With that, he also recorded 16 points in 17 playoff games for the WHL squad.

With the Maple Leafs having deep forward depth, it is going to take Minten a bit of time to make the jump to the NHL. The youngster is set to play another season with the Blazers, and it will be intriguing to see how much his offensive game improves during another year in junior.
