Buffalo Sabres to Terminate Forward's Contract

The Buffalo Sabres have placed Riley Sheahan on unconditional waivers. As a result, his contract will be terminated.

Sheahan inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Sabres this offseason. The expectation was that he would compete for a spot in Buffalo's bottom six, but that, unfortunately, did not come to fruition. Instead, he has played just two games for the Sabres on the year, where he has zero points and a minus-2 rating. Instead, he primarily was their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. In six games with the AHL squad, he has three assists.

It will be intriguing to see what happens with Sheahan from here. Perhaps the 30-year-old has a contract on the way from an overseas club. Time will tell on that front.
