Carolina Hurricanes Provide Update on Frederik Andersen

Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour was very realistic when it came to the potential timelines of goaltender Frederik Andersen's return to the ice. Andersen has been out since last Tuesday when he suffered an undisclosed injury during practice. When asked about it, Brind'Amour admitted Andersen is nowhere close to getting back.

The Hurricanes netminder has been inconsistent to start the 2022-23 season, registering a .891 Sv.% and a 2.72 GAA in eight appearances so far. This coming after ranking fourth in Vezina trophy voting just a year ago.

Carolina has also been without forwards Ondrej Kase and Teuvo Teravainen. Kase was injured during the team's season opener and with his lengthy history of concussions, this one may put him on the shelve for the entire season.

Teravainen on the other hand suffered an upper-body injury over a week ago facing the Edmonton Oilers. Sounds like it wasn't a concussion and more so a stinger and he's likely going to be the first one back of the injured Hurricanes' trio.
