Jets Rumors: Winnipeg Looking to Fill Specific Need via Trade

The Winnipeg Jets have surprised a lot of people this season as the team is off to a great start in 2022-23. Don't expect general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to sit on his hands, as the Jets GM will be active on the trade market this season. Recently the team has dealt with some injuries and now are looking to fill a need via trade.

Cheveldayoff has been rumored to be sending out trade offers for wingers across the NHL and appears willing to move one of his young defensemen to facilitate a deal. Both Logan Stanley and Ville Heinola have been linked to moves recently as the Jets would prefer to acquire a young NHL ready forward who doesn't necessarily need to have a lengthy resume.

Hockey insider Frank Seravalli linked Heinola to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a potential one-for-one swap for Nick Robertson. So far this seems like just some speculation and the trade doesn't appear to have any legs.

The Jets sit with a 10-4-1 record, good for second in the western conference. Expect the team to be active these next couple of weeks, trying to find a winger for their top-six.
