NHL Rumors: Anaheim Ducks Forward Emerging as Trade Candidate

There's no question that the Anaheim Ducks are set to make changes to their roster. As one of the league's worst teams in 2022-23, they are destined to be sellers at the deadline. Although several pending UFAs will be made available, one younger player who could end up being on the move is Max Comtois.

Comtois is no stranger to the rumor mill, as his name was being thrown around last season. Ever since his strong 33-point campaign in 55 games with Anaheim in 2020-21, he has taken a noticeable step back in production, and his spot on the depth chart has rapidly fallen. Expecting him to find his old offensive form while he is playing bottom-six minutes just won't happen, so perhaps it would be best for both parties to move on.

In 15 games this season, Comtois has four goals to go along with a minus-3 rating. We will have to wait and see if the Ducks can find him a new home. Given his past success, perhaps a rebuilding team could have him in their sights.
