NHL Rumors: Blackhawks To Speak With Star About Trade Soon

The Chicago Blackhawks have come off their good start to the season. They've lost 10 of the past 12 games after starting the season with four wins in six games. It has caused them to evaluate what they have in hopes of pushing the envelope forward.

It has been made clear that Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane don't want to lose, and that's exactly what the Blackhawks are going to do this season. If possible, the Blackhawks would like to move both as soon as possible in order to lose more games and get a higher draft pick.

Frank Seravalli reported that the Blackhawks are expected to talk with Kane soon to see if he has interest in a trade. I can't see Kane wanting to stick out the year with the team and lose only to possibly keep the team from getting a first overall pick.

The Blackhawks have done everything they can in order to lose this season, trading away a number of key pieces in the offseason. Since Kane and Toews have full no-move clauses, the decision is up to them when and where they are traded. Kane has been linked to multiple teams which shows there is a good amount of interest in him already. Acquiring him would surely push a team into the playoffs and give them a good shot at the Stanley Cup.
