NHL Rumors: Florida Panthers Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Florida Panthers are going to need to make a trade once Anthony Duclair is activated, as they are over the salary cap. Duclair's name has come up in the rumor mill as a potential trade candidate, but NHL insider Frank Seravalli noted that Sam Bennett could also be the player who the Panthers end up moving.

Bennett is having another solid season this year thus far, as he has five goals to go along with 10 assists. Therefore, trading him would certainly sting, but they may have no choice if there ends up not being much interest in Duclair.

Bennett has zero trade protection, so Florida would have no trouble moving him if they receive an offer worth pursuing. Teams would also need to be okay with him being more than a rental, as he carries a $4.425 million cap hit until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
