NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Likely to Trade Defenseman

Although the Philadelphia Flyers started the 2022-23 season impressively, it appears that reality is starting to creep in. After losing six straight games, they now have a 7-7-4 record and are sixth in the Metropolitan Division. If this trend continues, they will surely be sellers at the deadline, and pending UFA Justin Braun would be a prime rental candidate.

The Flyers of course traded Braun to the New York Rangers last season, where they scored a third-round pick. They may not be able to land that same return this time around, however, as Braun has yet to record a point in 17 games this season. At the time of his trade last season, he recorded 19 points in 62 games.

Although Braun's offensive game has noticeably dropped off, he still could get plenty of interest for a playoff team needing more depth on their right side. We will have to wait and see what happens with the 35-year-old from here.
