NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Trade Brewing

The Philadelphia Flyers have been linked to a trade by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The team currently sits with 50 contracts, the maximum amount, however they have veteran Artem Anisimov playing on their AHL team and want to get him signed to an NHL contract.

Anisimov, 34, has appeared in two games in the AHL, and is yet to record a point. He hasn't played in the NHL since 2020-21 as a member of the Ottawa Senators when he recorded nine points in 19 games. The Flyers are brutal this season and appear headed for the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. Their winless in their past 10 games and are only ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Metro division.

When it comes to trade candidates, the likes of Travis Konecny, Justin Braun, and Patrick Brown have all emerged as potential trade targets as ideally, they move someone like Brown or Braun for mid-round draft pick, opening up the spot to sign Anisimov.

You know it's bad in Philly, when they are trying to find ways to get Anisimov into their NHL lineup.
