NHL Rumors: Pittsburgh Penguins Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

According to Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now, the Pittsburgh Penguins could look to trade Teddy Blueger before the trade deadline.

At the time of this writing, the Penguins sport a 6-7-3 record and they will need to heat up quickly to try to get their season back on track. If they continue to lose, they will be in foreign territory and miss the playoffs for the first time since 2005-06 - Sidney Crosby's rookie season. If they are out of the playoff race at the deadline, Blueger will be a prime rental candidate as a pending UFA.

If the Penguins shop Blueger, there will surely be interest in his services. The 28-year-old has emerged as an excellent bottom-six forward who plays very well defensively and can chip in decent secondary scoring.

Alas, it will be intriguing to see what happens with Blueger from here.
