NHL Rumors: Red Wings & Coyotes Emerging as Trade Partners

The Detroit Red Wings are having a very good start to the season, as they sport a 10-5-4 record and are third in the Atlantic Division. They most notably are ahead of teams like the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers, but if they want to maintain this spot, they should be browsing the trade market as soon as possible. One player who could make sense for them is Arizona Coyotes winger Nick Ritchie.

Ritchie is expected to be moved before the deadline because of his pending UFA status and strong start to the year. Detroit could definitely make sense in the sweepstakes because they are currently dealing with multiple injuries to their forward group. Robby Fabbri, Jakub Vrana, Flip Zadina, Elmer Soderblom, and Matt Luff are all sidelined, so maybe Detroit should aim to get a forward as soon as possible.

Ritchie would provide the Red Wings with solid secondary scoring and more toughness. In 18 games this season, the 6-foot-3 winger has six goals and 10 points.
