NHL Rumors: Wild & Blackhawks Becoming Possible Trade Partners

While speaking with reporters, Minnesota Wild general manager (GM) Bill Guerin noted that he is looking to add to the team's forward group to help with scoring. The Chicago Blackhawks, on the other hand, are starting to fall toward the bottom of the NHL standings and will likely begin trading pending UFAs shortly because of it. One player who should on the Wild's radar because of this is Max Domi.

When Domi inked a one-year deal with Chicago this offseason, it became apparent that he was going to be one of their biggest trade candidates in 2022-23. This was a classic "prove-it" deal and so far, the 27-year-old forward is doing just that. In 19 games thus far, he has five goals to go along with 14 points. Overall, it has been a very good start to the year for him, and Chicago should be able to get a good return for him because of it.

If Domi can keep up this pace of production, he would be a big addition for Minnesota. His ability to play center and left wing could allow him to squeeze his way into their top six as well. Alas, let's see if these two Central Division clubs strike a deal from here.
