Toronto Maple Leafs Place Forward on Waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed Nicolas Aube-Kubel on waivers.

Aube-Kubel signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Leafs this offseason with the expectation that he would be a mainstay in their bottom six. However, after failing to record a point in six games, the Leafs are now willing to risk losing him through waivers.

Given Aube-Kubel's feisty style of play and his strong season with the Colorado Avalanche last year, it seems very possible that another team could take a chance on him. With the Avalanche last season, he had 11 goals and 11 assists in 67 regular-season games. We will have to wait and see if another team claims him from here.
