Washington Capitals Make Multiple Roster Moves

The Washington Capitals have been hammered by the injury bug as the list of unavailable players continue to grow. Today before their game against the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night, they had no choice but to make some call ups.

Lucas Johansen is a former first-round pick who has only appeared in one NHL game in six seasons with the franchise. The 24-year-old defenseman has one goal in six AHL games this season. In 2021-22 he posted 28 points in 68 games in the minors.

Sonny Milano is someone who many felt would be signed earlier last summer, however that wasn't the case at all. He managed to land in Washington and finally gets his chance to play on an NHL roster this season. Last season with the Anaheim Ducks Milano scored 14 goals in 66 games.

Garrett Pilon is another veteran Hershey Bear who is looking to stick with the big club. Last season he appeared in only two NHL games, scoring one goal. He put up solid production in the AHL with 42 points in 60 games and looks to make an impression early on this season with his new opportunity.
