Boston Bruins Veteran Forward Sent Down to AHL

The Boston Bruins have sent down Craig Smith to the Providence Bruins.

Smith was waived earlier this week, but Boston decided to hold onto him for their contest against the Florida Panthers. Unfortunately, Smith did not impress enough to maintain his spot during the game (zero points, minus-1 rating), and now he is heading to Providence as a result of it.

Although the Bruins have been firing on all cylinders this season, Smith has noticeably struggled. With just four points in 18 games, the Madison native lost his permanent spot in Boston's lineup. Now, he will be hoping to get his game back on track in the AHL from here.
