New Jersey Devils Top Prospect Loaned to Team Slovakia

The New Jersey Devils have loaned Simon Nemec to Team Slovakia for the World Junior Championship.

Nemec was selected with the second-overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Devils. So far, the 18-year-old defenseman has played well with the Utica Comets, as he has two goals and seven points in 19 games. Overall, that is certainly a good start from a teenage defenseman just beginning his professional career, but now he is set to play for his country at the tournament.

Nemec is a massive addition to Slovakia's roster, and it will be fun to see how he performs against hockey's top prospects.
