NHL Rumors: Blackhawks' Kane Trade Will Come Down to 3 Teams

The Patrick Kane sweepstakes are going to fun to watch this season as the Chicago Blackhawks forward is expected to eventually be asked to waive his no-movement clause this season. Where exactly that will be, at this point, is anyone's guess.

There's been rumblings that Kane is only going to be interested in getting traded to a team he can re-sign with during the summer. Considering how long he's been playing in Chicago, you can't blame him for thinking about his legacy.

As for teams in the mix, several of hockey insiders feel the LA Kings, New York Rangers or New York Islanders are the three big players. All three teams could use some more scoring from their wing, and Kane would look nice in their top six.

The 34-year-old has appeared in 26 games with the Blackhawks in 2022-23, recording four goals and 20 points. Last season Kane tallied 92 points in 78 games and can still be one of the most dominant players in the game. Expect to see Chicago retain 50% of his $10.5 million salary for the rest of this season, and look for Blackhawks management to land at least one first-round pick, a top prospect and a young NHL roster player in return for Kane's services.
