NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Winger Becoming Trade Target

The Philadelphia Flyers are due for a legitimate rebuild. After an offseason of spending, they are once again the league's worst teams and are clearly trending in the wrong direction. If GM Chuck Fletcher finally embraces the team's much-needed rebuild, Cam Atkinson is a player who we will likely see dealt.

Atkinson is just about set to make his season debut for the Flyers, as he has returned to practice in a full-contact jersey. Once he is back in action, teams around the league will surely pay attention to his production. For several years now, he has been a solid top-six winger, and if this trend continues in 2022-23, we should expect contenders to call about him at the deadline.

Atkinson is coming off of a season that saw him score 23 goals and record 50 points in 73 games. There's no question that teams would love to have the scoring winger on their roster, but he also has a 10-team no-trade list. With that, his $5.875 million cap until the end of the 2024-25 season is a little expensive, so Philadelphia may need to retain a bit of it in a swap.
