NHL Rumors: Sharks & Kings Becoming Possible Trading Partners

The Los Angeles Kings made major news when they waived goaltender, Cal Petersen. It has been a bad year for the 28-year-old, and now he is in the AHL because of it. As a result, the Kings will likely begin exploring the trade market for a new goalie, and one target who would make sense for them is San Jose Sharks netminder James Reimer.

The Sharks have established that they are open for business, as they are preparing to begin a legitimate rebuild. As a result, Reimer is likely to be on the move. He is pending UFA who has the potential to land the Sharks a decent return after all.

Reimer would provide the Kings with more insurance in net. If Petersen is unable to bounce back with the Ontario Reign, Los Angeles could roll a Jonathan Quick-Reimer tandem as they get ready for the postseason. Alas, let's see if these two California teams strike a deal from here.
