NHL Rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs Linked to Flyers Winger

In a recent piece for Postmedia News, Michael Traikos brought up the prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs making a push for Philadelphia Flyers forward James van Riemsdyk.

JVR is one of the notable rental candidates heading into this season's trade deadline. The 33-year-old winger has been quite solid when healthy this season, as he has five goals and 13 points in 15 games. The Leafs would love to add this kind of production to their lineup, so perhaps a reunion with JVR could make sense.

JVR carries a $7 million cap hit, but given the fact that he has an expiring contract, it is likely that the Flyers would be open to retaining a good portion of his salary. Alas, let's see if the Leafs make a push for their old friend from here.
