Winnipeg Jets Dealt Brutal Injury News

The Winnipeg Jets have been dealt some bad injury news. Blake Wheeler will be out for at least one month after undergoing groin surgery, while Nate Schmidt is expected to miss the next four to six weeks.

Wheeler may have had his captaincy stripped from him before the start of the season, but that certainly has not impacted his play. The veteran winger is once again one of the Jets' top producers, as he has nine goals and 26 points in 29 games. Losing that kind of offense is not ideal at all for Winnipeg, so they will miss him a lot while he is out.

Schmidt, on the other hand, has played in 29 games this season with the Jets, where he has three goals and three assists. Offensively, he has been producing less than expected, but he is a solid part of their group, so they would much rather have him in the lineup than not.
