2 Players Placed On Waivers

Two new players have been placed on waivers today (Jan. 15), as Alex Nedeljkovic (Detroit Red Wings) and Nicholas Caamano (Dallas Stars) have hit the wire.

Nedeljkovic is certainly the name that stands out from this pair, as the 27-year-old netminder was expected to be a big part of the Red Wings' roster. However, after his spectacular rookie season with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2020-21, he has not been able to replicate that success since becoming a Red Wing. In nine games on the year this campaign, he has a 2-4-2 record, .880 SV%, and 4.09 GAA. His struggles made him the third-string netminder for Detroit, and he has not played in a game since Dec. 8.

Caamano, on the other hand, has not appeared in a single game this season, but this waiver placement means that he is ready to return. Assuming he clears, he will be joining the Texas Stars for the second half of the season. Caamano comes with 36 games of NHL experience, where he has one goal, two assists, and a minus-5 rating.
