NHL Rumors: Canucks & Flyers Discussing Deal

The Philadelphia Flyers have made Ivan Provorov available for trade this season as the team will look to move the veteran defenseman before the March 3 trade deadline. Provorov becomes one of the more interesting trade candidates on the market and there's been an interesting team linked to a deal....the Vancouver Canucks.

The Canucks are a mess. They have several of their star players who are not happy and they've been talking trade on just about anyone on their roster at this point. Management is looking to re-tool on the fly and there's going to be some mega-deals announced before the deadline this season.

When it comes to Provorov, this deal could evolve around Travis Dermott and Conor Garland heading to the Flyers. Philly would like to replace Provorov with a proven NHL d-man and add some scoring up front in any move.

So far this season, Provorov has recorded just 15 points in 43 games. He's shown in the past he's capable of flirting with 40-point seasons. He's signed for $6.7 million through the 2024-25 season and the Canucks aren't alone when it comes to trade interest. Expect to hear of offers made from the Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and Seattle Kraken.
