Boston Bruins & Anaheim Ducks Emerging as Trading Partners

The Boston Bruins are currently at the top of the NHL standings, and they will be looking to make multiple moves at the deadline because of it. After all, this could be the final season of the careers of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, so there’s no doubt that this is a Stanley Cup or bust season for them. Yet, for the Bruins to make any notable moves, they are going to need to move out some salary. One notable trade target from them because of this is Craig Smith. Smith has fallen dramatically on the depth chart this season, and the primary reason for that is that he has struggled to find his old offense form. He has been shopped by Boston, and one team who may be willing to take him on is the Anaheim Ducks.

Anaheim has a plethora of salary cap space, and they are in the midst of a rebuild. As a result, they may be willing to take on Smith’s salary if it leads them to land a draft pick in the process. The Ducks and Bruins have done a lot of business over the years, and this seems like the latest possibility for them.

It was reported that the Bruins and Ducks were in deep discussions by Dominic Tiano recently, but a move has yet to happen. However, we will have to wait and see if that changes from here, as Smith and the Ducks seem like a possibility.
