Columbus Blue Jackets Forward Placed on IR

The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a very bad season, and a significant reason behind their struggles is their plethora of injuries. Now, the injury bug has hit them yet again, as Carson Meyer is the latest Blue Jacket to be placed on injured reserve.

Meyer suffered an oblique strain during Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he will now be out for the next six-to-eight weeks because of it. Overall, it is just awful to hear that another Columbus player is set to miss a good portion of time due to injury.

Meyer, who is an Ohio native, has appeared in 13 games for the Blue Jackets this season, where he has zero points to go along with a -2 rating. Although he has not made too much of an impact with the NHL squad this season, he has worked as a decent depth player, so the Blue Jackets are not going to be jumping for joy with him being out. Here’s hoping that everything with his recovery goes smoothly and that he doesn’t suffer any setbacks in the process.
