Edmonton Oilers Forward Closing In On Return

The Edmonton Oilers received some good news this week on forward Evander Kane who is back on the ice at practice and appears to be getting closer to game action.

Kane has been out since November 8 after getting his wrist slit by a skate, underwent two surgeries and at this point is still considered week-to-week. It's a welcomed sign for the organization and the league to see him back on the ice this week, skating with his teammates and getting himself back into game shape.

Kane has appeared in 14 games this season, recording 13 points. The Oilers could use his offense and his toughness to help balance out their top-six forwards. Edmonton is in the trade market for help up front and on defense, but the return of Kane is likely going to be their biggest acquisition.
