Edmonton Oilers Make Notable Scratch

The Edmonton Oilers are making a notable scratch for tonight's (Jan. 17) contest against the Seattle Kraken, as Jesse Puljujarvi will be sitting out, according to Tyler Yaremchuk.

Puljujarvi has had a rough season, and now this healthy scratch only adds to it. After recording a career-high 36 points in 65 games last season, many believed that the 2016 third-overall pick was ready to take that next step and blossom into a top-six forward. Yet, he has gone backward this campaign, as he has just four goals and 10 points to go along with a minus-13 rating in 45 games.

The Oilers will be hoping that this healthy scratch leads Puljujarvi to heat up once he is utilized again. We will have to wait and see how he responds to it from here.
