Edmonton Oilers Make Series of Roster Moves

The Edmonton Oilers are getting a massive boost, as Evander Kane has been activated off of long-term injured reserve. To make room for him financially, the Oilers have placed both Kailer Yamamoto and
Ryan Murray on LTIR.

Kane suffered a very frightening wrist injury back in early November that was expected to keep him out for three to four months. Yet, Kane has recovered quicker than expected, and now Edmonton is getting one of their top wingers back in the process. Before his injury, Kane started the year hot, as he recorded 13 points in 14 games.

Yamamoto last played on Jan. 11, and this LTIR placement is an indicator that his injury will sideline him for a while. The Oilers announced that his injury will keep him out for weeks, but a specific timeline has not been determined. In 31 games on the year, he has four goals and 12 points.

Murray has been out of action since Nov. 21, and the Oilers have announced that his injury remains long-term. In 13 games on the year, he has three assists and a minus-4 rating.
