Major Help on the Way for Washington Capitals

Look out hockey world - the Washington Capitals are getting a major boost. For Sunday's contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets, both Nicklas Backstrom and Tom Wilson are returning to the lineup.

Backstrom and Wilson have missed the entirety of the year due to injury, but now the Caps are getting back two of their top-six forwards. Wilson is returning from a torn ACL, while Backstrom is coming back from hip resurfacing surgery.

At one point, it seemed that Backstrom's career was in jeopardy, so it is magnificent that he is returning with a little more than half of the season left. In 47 games last season, the 15-year veteran had 31 points. Wilson, on the other hand, is coming off of a season that saw him score 24 goals and record 52 points in 78 games. Needless to say, the Caps will be ecstatic to have these two back. Let's see how they perform in their season debuts.
