Montreal Canadiens Call Up Goaltender

The Montreal Canadiens have called up Cayden Primeau to their NHL roster. This is in response to Jake Allen currently being out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Primeau backed up for Sam Montembeault immediately following his call-up, and he will be sticking with Montreal until Allen is good to go. Even if this is likely going to be a short-term call-up for Primeau, this is still a good chance for him to show the Canadiens that he is making progress with his development.

Primeau has made appearances at the NHL level in each of the three last seasons, but now he will be aiming to change that to four. In 18 career games in the sport's most competitive league, he has a 3-10-2 record, a .874 save percentage, and a 4.21 goals-against average. Yes, he has struggled when called upon, but he is still only 23 years old and has plenty of time to improve upon these career stats. Let's see if he gets the chance to do just that during this call-up from here.
