NHL Rumors: Avalanche & Flyers Linked to Possible Trade

The Colorado Avalanche have had a year of mixed results, and the primary reason behind this is the serious injury trouble that they have had with their forward group. Yet, even when they get fully healthy, they still would be wise to add to their roster before the deadline passes. After losing Nazem Kadri through free agency, the Avalanche have not found a legitimate replacement for him at the second-line center position. With the Philadelphia Flyers shopping Kevin Hayes, perhaps he could be the player that helps fix this.

Hayes is having a very good season, and that has led to him being named to his first All-Star Game. Yet, Flyers head coach John Tortorella also scratched him this season, so it does make sense that the Flyers are considering the idea of moving him. Furthermore, his trade value has improved due to his strong season, so that also is likely playing a role in this decision.

If the Flyers retain half of his salary, the Avalanche would surely be open to the idea of bringing him in. We will have to wait and see if these two clubs end up making a trade from here.
