NHL Rumors: Canadiens & Hurricanes Becoming Possible Trade Partners

The Carolina Hurricanes are once again one of the top teams in the NHL at this point of the season. They have a very deep roster, but even with this being the case, it would be wise for them to make some additions to their group before the deadline passes. To be more specific, they have yet to find a legitimate replacement for Vincent Trocheck at the second-line center position, and one player who could help fill that role is Montreal Canadiens forward Sean Monahan.

Monahan has had a very solid bounce-back season with the Canadiens and looks similar to the player he was during his best years with the Calgary Flames. As a result, the pending unrestricted free agent is already getting a lot of buzz on the trade market, and now the Hurricanes are appearing to be a perfect fit for him.

With the Hurricanes looking to win the Stanley Cup, it would be wise for them to beef up their top six before the deadline passes. We will have to wait and see if Monahan ends up being the center that they end up bringing in from here.
